Vitalija Glovackyte is a Lithuanian composer and director based in Manchester. Her works span from solo pieces to a full-scale opera, with her current project being a 40-minute piece for choreography, live music and visuals to be premiered in Manchester and Vilnius in Spring 2014. She has worked with groups such as Manchester Camerata, BBC Singers, Composers Ensemble, Icarus, RNCM Symphony Orchestra, ACM Ensemble and Distractfold Ensemble, with performances in venues such as Bridgewater Hall, British Museum, RNCM, Dartington Hall, Peckham Multistorey car park (London Contemporary Music Festival) and IABF Centre. In August 2013 she participated in Dartington Summer School with Francesco Antonioni, generously supported by DISS 2013. In 2012 Vitalija co-founded ACM ensemble, a new music group based in Manchester, recent recipient of an MBF Emerging Excellence Award to collaborate with Ensemble 10/10. ACM will be giving its HCMF debut this November.
